It's best to cook asparagus the day you purchase it, but it can be stored for up to 3 days. The best way to store asparagus is by cutting the bottom half inch off the base of each stalk, then wrap in a wet paper towel and store in a plastic bag in the refrigerator. You can also store standing up in an inch or two of water and covering with plastic wrap.
