Ingredients
- 4 tablespoons pearl barley
- 1 1/2 pounds apples peel, cored and sliced
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 1/5 teaspoons cinnamon
- 1 cup heavy cream
- 2 cups water
Directions
- Boil barley in water while you peel and slice the apples (about 10 min.)
- Add apples to the barley and continue to boil for 15 more minutes.
- Food process or blend apples and barley.
- Return puree mixture to saucepan and continue to cook. Add brown sugar and cinnamon.
- Serve with 1 T. heavy cream per serving.
