Baked Fresh Bone In Ham

For a larger ham


  • 1 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon ground
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves ground
  • 1 count orange
  • 5 pound ham bone-in


    1. Place fresh bone-in ham on a rack in an uncovered shallow pan. Position meat thermometer in thickest part of ham (do not let thermometer touch fat or bone).
    2. Baking time (325 degree oven). Approximately 20 minutes per pound of ham. Internal temperature when done- 160 degrees.
    3. If desired, spread glaze over ham 30 to 40 minutes before removing from oven. When done, remove ham from oven and let stand a few minutes before serving.
    4. Glaze: Carefully cut peel from orange in long strips; set aside. Squeeze juice form orange; measure 2 tablespoons orange juice, honey, cinnamon and cloves; mix well.
