Easy Chicken

  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon thyme dried
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 count chicken roasting about 3lb.
  • 4 count carrots
  • 2 count potatoes
  • 1 count onion
  • 1 count sweet red pepper or green pepper
  • 1 count cooking bag oven large


    1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Remove giblets and neck from chicken; discard or set aside to make stock. Rinse chicken inside and out with cold water; pat dry with paper towels.
    2. Place flour in a large oven-cooking bag; hold bag shut and shake to coat. Add water, basil, thyme, salt and pepper; gently squeeze bag to blend ingredients. Place bag in a 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Place chicken in cooking bag. Arrange vegetables in bag around chicken.
    3. Seal bag; cut six 1/2-inch slits in bag. Bake at 375 degrees for 1 hour to 1 hour 15 minutes, or until chicken is tender and juices are buttery at the thigh joint when pierced.
