Pear Pie

  • 5 count pears
  • 1 count pie shell 9 inch
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 3 tablespoon sugar
  • 1/3 cup flour
  • 1/3 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1/3 cup sugar


    1. To prepare filling: Peel, core and slice pears. In a mixing bowl, combine sugar, flour, ginger and salt. Add pear slices and toss gently mix. Place pears in pastry lined 9-inch pie plate.
    2. To prepare cheese crumb topping: combine all topping ingredients in a mixing bowl; (starting with cheese) mix thoroughly. Sprinkle evenly over pears.
    3. Bake at 425 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes or until pears are tender and crust is golden brown.
