  • 1 count sugars colored
  • 1 1/2 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 count egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 4 cup flour


    1. Cream butter or margarine and sugar until fluffy. Add egg and vanilla; beat well. Sift flour and baking powder together; then add to creamed mixture, stirring until dough is smooth. Cover and refrigerate for 2 to 3 hours.
    2. Preheat oven to 400 degrees.
    3. On a floured surface, roll out dough to 1/4 inch thickness. Using a floured cookie cutter, cut dough into desired shapes. Decorate cookies with colored sugar. Place cookies on an ungreased baking sheet.
    4. Bake at 400 degrees for 8 to 10 minutes.
