Blonde Brownies

NOTE: This recipe can be doubled and baked in a 9x13 inch baking pan until top appears dry.


  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1/2 cup nuts chopped
  • 1 cup chocolate morsels
  • 1 count egg


    1. Grease an 8x8 inch baking pan; set aside.
    2. Melt butter or margarine in a saucepan. Remove from heat and immediately blend in brown sugar. Add egg and stir briskly. Add flour, baking powder, salt and baking soda; mix well. Stir in vanilla and nuts, if desired. Spread batter in prepared pan. Sprinkle chocolate morsels over top.
    3. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25 minutes.
