French Toast

  • 1 count maple syrup
  • 4 count eggs
  • 2 tablespoon butter
  • 2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 2 tablespoon sugar
  • 8 slice challah bread
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ground
  • 2 teaspoon orange liqueur
  • 1 cup milk


    1. In a shallow bowl beat together eggs, milk, sugar, vanilla, and, if desired orange liqueur and/or cinnamon and nutmeg.
    2. Dip bread slices into egg mixture, coating both sides (if using challah bread or brioche, let soak in egg mixture about 10 seconds each side).
    3. In a skillet or on a griddle melt 1 tablespoon of the butter over medium heat; add half of the bread slices and cook for 2 to 3 minutes on each side or until golden brown. Repeat with remaining butter and bread slices. Serve warm. If desired, serve with syrup.
