Toffee Bars

  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup semisweet chocolate morsels
  • 1/3 cup chocolate covered toffee pieces
  • 1/3 cup chopped walnuts
  • 1 count egg


    1. In a large mixing bowl beat butter with an electric mixer on medium to high speed for 30 seconds. Add brown sugar, egg, and vanilla. Beat until combined, scraping the sides of the bowl occasionally. Beat in the flour and the salt until combined.
    2. Spread evenly in an ungreased 13x9x2-inch baking pan. Bake in a 350 degree oven about 15 minutes or until edges begin to brown and surface is dry.
    3. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate pieces. Let stand about 2 minutes or until chocolate is softened; spread evenly.
    4. Sprinkle with nuts and toffee pieces. Immediately cut into bars. Cool on a wire rack.
