Seared Scallops in Garlic Butter

Do not over cook scallops or they will become tough!

Ingredients

  • 3 clove garlic
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound scallops
  • 2 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 1 tablespoon chive or parsley
  • 2 tablespoon wine white dry

Directions

    1. Thaw scallops, if frozen. Rinse scallops; pat dry with paper towels.
    2. Heat a 12-inch skillet over medium-high heat. Add 1 tablespoon butter and the minced garlic; cook and stir until butter is melted.
    3. Add the scallops. Cook, stirring frequently, for 2 to 3 minutes or until scallops turn opaque. Remove from skillet and transfer to a serving platter.
    4. Add remaining 1 tablespoon butter and wine to the skillet. Cook and stir to loosen any browned bits. Pour over scallops; sprinkle with chives and salt.
