Barbecued Pork Sandwiches

You can also bake this pork in the oven or smoke it on a smoker!


  • 1/4 teaspoon ground clove
  • 16 ounce barbecue sauce
  • 12 count rolls French style
  • 1/8 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 5 pound pork


    1. Trim fat from meat. In a bowl combine salt, pepper, celery seeds, onion powder, garlic powder, cloves, and red pepper. Sprinkle mixture evenly over all sides of meat; rub in with your fingers.
    2. For a charcoal grill, arrange medium-hot coals around a drip pan. Test for medium heat above pan. Place meat on grill rack over drip pan. Cover and grill about 4 hours or until meat is very tender. Remove meat from grill; cover with foil; cover with foil and let stand for 30 minutes.
    3. Shred pork with two forks. Combine shredded pork with barbeque sauce; heat through. Spoon onto rolls.
