Baked Cavatelli

  • 2 cup spaghetti sauce meatless
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 3/4 cup onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 7 ounce pasta cavatelli
  • 12 ounce Italian sausage links


    1. Cook pasta according to package directions. Drain; set aside.
    2. Meanwhile, cut sausage into 1/2inch thick slices and cook in a large skillet with the onion and garlic. When done remove from skillet and drain.
    3. In a large bowl stir together pasta sauce, 3/4 cup mozzarella cheese, and pepper. Add the cooked pasta and the sausage mixture. Stir gently to combine. Spoon the mixture into a 2-quart casserole dish.
    4. Bake, covered, at 375 degrees for 20 minutes or until nearly heated through. Uncover, sprinkle with remaining 1/4 cup cheese. Bake about 5 minutes more or until cheese melts.
