Thai Ribbons

Ingredients

  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 pound beef flank steak
  • 1 tablespoon ginger root
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 3/8 cup teriyaki sauce

Directions

    1. Place 30 six inch bamboo skewers in water to soak.
    2. Cut steak across the grain into 1/4 inch slices resembling ribbons; then place meat in a plastic bag.
    3. In a small bowl, combine teriyaki sauce, ginger root, oil, garlic and red pepper; mix well. Pour over meat in plastic bag, turning to coat all sides. Seal bag and set aside for 15 minutes.
    4. Remove meat from marinade; discard marinade. Thread each "ribbon" of meat onto a bamboo skewer.
    5. Arrange skewers on a rack in a broiler pan. Broil three to four inches from source of heat for 2 minutes; turn over and broil 2 minutes longer.
    6. Sprinkle with sesame seed before serving.
