Cincinnati Style Chili

Ingredients

  • 2 pound ground beef lean
  • 12 ounce spaghetti
  • 1 cup shredded colby cheese
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper red
  • 1 quart water
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 2 large onions
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 2 count bay leaves
  • 2 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground allspice
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1/2 tablespoon black pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon ground

Directions

    1. Crumble raw meat into water in a large stock pot or Dutch oven.
    2. Add onions and garlic and all remaining ingredients excluding cheese and mix well. Bring to a boil; then reduce heat, cover and simmer for 3 hours, stirring occasionally.
    3. Remove bay leaves before serving.
    4. Ladle chili into bowls and top each serving with shredded cheese.
    5. Note: To serve Cincinnati style, ladle the chili over cooked spaghetti noodles and top with cheese.
