Scampi Style Shrimp

Note: Fresh or frozen shrimp can be used. Thaw shrimp if frozen before preparing.


  • 2 cup cooked rice
  • 1 1/2 pound raw shrimp large in shells
  • 6 tablespoon butter or margarine
  • 4 clove garlic
  • 1 tablespoon onion
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon peel
  • 1 count fresh parsley
  • 1 count lemon peel
  • 1/2 cup white wine


    1. Remove shells and veins from shrimp. Rinse and gently pat shrimp dry using paper towels; set aside.
    2. Melt butter or margarine in a large skillet over medium heat. Add garlic, green onion, lemon juice, lemon peel, salt and hot pepper sauce; bring to a boil.
    3. Add shrimp and saute for about 5 minutes or until shrimp are done.
    4. Serve immediately over hot rice. Garnish with parsley and grated lemon peel.
