Baked Burgundy Beef

  • Servings: 8 servings
Rice can be substituted for noodles if desired.


  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 12 ounce noodles
  • 1/4 cup oil canola
  • 2 can soup cream of mushroom
  • 1 1/4 cup wine burgundy
  • 3 medium onions
  • 1 pound mushrooms
  • 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 pound stew meat


    1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
    2. Put flour, salt, and garlic into a large zipper locked bag or sealed container and add the stew meat. Shake to coat.
    3. In a large skillet heat 1/4 c. oil or butter and brown the meat quickly.
    4. Combine soup, wine and onions. Add to browned meat and stir to mix. Place in a large casserole for baking.
    5. Cover and bake at 325 degrees for 2 hours and 45 minutes or until meat is tender.
    6. Remove from oven and add mushrooms. Cover and bake 20 minutes longer.
    7. Prepare noodles according to package instructions and serve with beef burgundy.
