Sirloin Tip Goulash

Ingredients

  • 1 cup mushrooms
  • 1 pound sirloin tip steak
  • 2 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 small onion
  • 2 clove garlic
  • 3 count tomatoes
  • 1 can tomato paste
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 count fresh parley
  • 1 count poppy seeds
  • 1/4 cup flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon marjoram

Directions

    1. Cut tip steak into 1 inch cubes.
    2. Combine flour and pepper; coat steak cubes with flour mixture.
    3. In a skillet, cook steak in hot oil until meat is browned on all sides. Add onion and garlic to meat; cook until onion is tender.
    4. Chop tomatoes and combine in a bowl with tomato paste, water, brown sugar, paprika, salt and marjoram; stir into steak mixture. Transfer to a 2-quart casserole. Cover and bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour 30 minutes.
    5. Remove from oven and add sliced mushrooms. Replace cover and bake 8 to 10 minutes longer or until meat is tender. To serve, spoon goulash over hot buttered noodles; top with parsley and poppy seeds.
