Aleen's Corn Chowder

Ingredients

  • 1/2 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 can potatoes diced drained
  • 1 can corn drained
  • 1 can corn creamed
  • 4 cup milk 2% or whole
  • 2 tablespoon flour
  • 1/2 cup celery diced
  • 1/2 cup onion diced
  • 1/2 pound bacon

Directions

    1. Brown bacon and set aside.
    2. Saute onion and celery in bacon drippings.
    3. Add flour to the onion and celery and make a roux cooking for about 2 minutes.
    4. Slowly add milk till blended well and then add corn, potatoes, and seasonings.
    5. Simmer over low heat for about 30 to 45 minutes. Do not let boil.
    6. Just before serving, add crumbled bacon.
