Fantastic Roast Beef Sandwiches

Crusty french bread is my choice for this recipe.


  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup flour
  • 12 slice bread
  • 2 cup mashed potatoes
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 1 teaspoon garlic
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 5 pound beef roast rolled boneless


    1. Wash and dry roast. Cover with salt and pepper and place in crock pot completely cover with water.
    2. Add brown sugar, onion soup, and cracked pepper, salt and a little bit of garlic. Cook on medium for 10-12 hours in crock pot.
    3. Remove from heat and make gravy. Gravy: Cool 1 cup of roast liquid. Strain remain liquid reserving about 3 cups. Add 2/3 of a cup of flour (if you like thicker gravy use the full 3/4 c.0 to the 1 c. of cooled liquid and whisk. Add mixture to remaining 3 cups and heat on medium high until thick and bubbly.
    4. Make a sandwich with roast beef and bread. Place a spoonful of hot mashed potatoes on top and cover with gravy.
