Barbecue for a Bunch

  • Prep Time: 10 minutes
  • Cook Time: 2400 minutes
  • Ready Time: 40 Hour, 10 Min
  • Servings: 12 servings

  • 2 count barbecue sauce
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 large catsup
  • 1 package onion soup mix
  • 5 pound smoked ham
  • 5 pound pork roast lean
  • 5 pound chuck or arm roast

    1. Cook all the meat together in a large roaster or a crockpot.  (I like to cut meat into similar size pieces), sprinkle onion soup mix over top of meat and add about 1 c. water.
    2. Roast until done at 325 degrees for 4 or so in the oven (allow 6-8 hours in crockpot) or until meat shreds with a fork.
    3. Let cool till its not too hot to touch and while still warm remove bones, fat, and shred the meat. Put in crockpot with catsup, sugars and barbecue sauce and cook on high until mixture starts to boil and turn to low.  Continue cooking for about an hour.
    4. Serve on buns or alone! Cole slaw is a great side for BBQ.
