Marilyns Strawberry Shortcake

This recipe is easily cut in half!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cup flour
  • 1 pound strawberries
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup sugar

Directions

    1. Cut shortening into dry ingredients. Beat egg and water to make one cup.
    2. Mix well and place in 2 greased 9" pie pans. Bake 20 minutes at 450 degrees.
    3. Cool shortcakes, split and cover with sweetened, sliced strawberries.
