Rosemary Bread

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3 cup flour
  • 3 tablespoon butter
  • 2 tablespoon fresh rosemary
  • 1 package yeast
  • 1 cup water

Directions

    1. Combine water, sugar, and yeast. Let stand for about 5 minutes.
    2. Add 2 1/2 cups flour, 1/2 t. salt, 1 T. butter, and rosemary
    3. Using a dough hook or by hand kneed dough for about 5 minutes. Place in greased bowl to rise about 1 hour or so until doubled.
    4. Punch down and let rise again. Let rest for 5 minutes and divide into two loaves, brush with butter and sprinkle with remaining salt and a little rosemary if desired, and place on greased baking sheet to rise again.
    5. Bake in 375 degree oven for 20 minutes. Brush with butter again when you remove from the oven.
