Strawberry Shortcake

  • Cook Time: 10 minutes
  • Servings: 8 servings


  • 1 cup whipped cream
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 3 tablespoon shortening or butter
  • 4 tablespoon sugar
  • 2 cup baking mix
  • 1 quart strawberries


    1. Combine strawberries and 2 T. of the sugar. Refrigerate.
    2. Combine baking mix, 2 T. sugar, shortening, and milk. Form into a ball and knead on a floured surface about 20 times. Roll dough out 1/2 inch thick. Cut with a floured cutter into 2 inch rounds. Place on a cookie sheet and bake in a 450 degree oven for about 10 minutes or until done. Do not over cook.
    3. Split shortcakes in half and top with strawberries and whipped cream.
