Sheri's Cornbread Dressing

  • Prep Time: 30 minutes
  • Cook Time: 60 minutes
  • Servings: 12 servings
Fresh herbs really improve this recipe but the amounts will be different. Make the day before and have ready for stuffing. If you dont stuff your turkey you can make this ahead and freeze it. Thaw the day before.

  • 1 teaspoon rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon sage
  • 2 teaspoon thyme
  • 2 medium onions
  • 1 can chicken broth 48 oz
  • 3 cup celery
  • 3 package Jiffy cornbread mix

    1. Begin by baking the Jiffy cornbread mix according to package instructions. Cool. When the cornbread is completely cooled break it into small pieces and let it dry out.
    2. Saute celery and onions in olive oil for 2-3 minutes. Do not overcook. Vegetables should be crunchy.
    3. Combine all ingredients and store in a sealed container. (More liquid may be needed depending on dryness of mixture.) Stuff turkey with dressing and bake. Extra dressing can be baked in a Pyrex baking dish for 1 hour.
