Dinner Rolls

  • 4 1/2 cup flour
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 cup water boiling
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 2 package yeast


    1. Dissolve yeast in water; set aside.
    2. Cream shortening and sugar and then add salt. Add boiling water and stir. Allow to cool slightly.
    3. Add 2 well beaten eggs and yeast to mixture above. Add the flour.
    4. Knead dough for about 5 minutes. Place dough in greased bowl, cover and allow to rise until doubled.
    5. Work the air out of the dough and cut or roll into individual rolls. Place in greased pan for baking and allow to rise again.
    6. Bake for about 20 minutes at 375 degrees or until done. Brush with butter and serve.
