Tomato Bisque

  • 1 count bay leaf
  • 1/2 cup celery
  • 3/4 cup onion
  • 2 teaspoon butter
  • 1 container tomato juice 46 oz
  • 1/2 cup half and half
  • 1/8 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano dried
  • 1/4 teaspoon seasoned salt


    1. In medium sauce pan saute onion in butter until golden -about 3 minutes. Do allow butter to brown!
    2. Add celery, tomato juice, bay leaf, oregano, seasoned salt, and pepper; bring to boiling. Reduce heat; simmer, stirring occasionally, 15 minutes.
    3. Pour broth through strainer, if desired, pressing vegetables through.
    4. Stir in half and half and serve (do not return to boil).
